Making a music video was very different to making a thriller. I knew there would be loads more work that needed to be done this year but i never knew how much. So first of all i'm going to talk about working with my group. My experience of working with my close friends this year was awesome. If any of us were slacking then we would be able to communicate properly with one another and help each other to improve ourselves and get back on our feet. Whenever we had doubts, worries and went through stressful times (Editing) we were able to motivate each other. We were all able to share roles which i liked the best. We took turns filming. Me and viet filmed the tower bridge scenes. Whereas Isla filmed the Camden passage and party scenes. This was done deliberately. This is because me, shannon and viet wanted to be in the music video and Isla did not want to be on camera. So it worked out to our advantage. Me and viet had to hold the lights on shannon performing several times on different days of filming as shannon was the main performer, and isla was filming. Editing was a nightmare as we thought disaster struck and we were not sure if our footage was good enough. However, it worked out and we were able to use it. Shannon was able to play around with the shots and follow through with the "J-LO effect." Furthermore, we all put our idea's into making this music video and were able to agree and disagree with each other. The experience of working with them was great. We laughed hard and had loads of opinionated arguments throughout the whole process, but we got through it all. It is now safe to say that its OVER! :D
Anyway, being a performer was way harder than i thought it would be. Being my confident self i volunteered straight away, unknowing the nightmare ahead of it. I felt nervous doing the lip sync at the party as i had loads of people looking at me. When your put on the spot it becomes way harder to perform. My nervousness did affect my performance. This meant i had to call for reinforcements (Shannon and Chloe). They stood next to me whilst i was performing at the party and were able to hype me up in order for my performance to get better. My nervousness slowly went away and i was able to give a better performance. Whilst they hyped me up Isla and Viet were able to get the shots of me singing that they needed.
I particularly enjoyed the party as it turned into an actual party. So that was my favorite part of the whole process. My least favorite part of the whole experience was filming on Tower bridge and editing. I say Tower bridge because it was freezing and it was raining hard. I had to sit on the soaking wet floor getting the low angle shots of shannon performing. Whilst viet was holding the lights, keeping our bags from getting wet and holding an umbrella over me at the same time. He was Mr Muscle on the night :) I never liked editing as i feel that is my weak point. I just tried to give as much feedback and imput in to my group so that we could edit properly.
I had loads of support from Dan, as i was constantly talking to him about my opinions and worries about the music video. Rebecca noticed some mistakes we made in the video, so we were able to fix them before the deadline. I feel the Camden passage scenes could have been better. However, putting effects on that verse helped to make it look better. I feel if we had more time it could have been better. However, it was hard to meet up and film as we all had busy schedules. Overall i am happy with our music video. :D
